Pear Tree Planting
2 June 2025
The Incorporation was proud to donate sixteen pear trees for planting in the grounds of Glasgow Cathedral, as part of the city's 850th anniversary celebrations. Trees were planted by the Lord Provost and Deacon Convener, as well as by or on behalf of the Deacons (and Visitor) of the fourteen Incorporated Trades. Trades House was built on the site of a pear orchard and the fruit still plays a part in Craft tradition to this day, with the Collector normally providing pears to all attendees at each AGM.
